„Annyi volt róla szó, hogy ilyen is történt, lapozzunk”: A holokauszt emlékezete magyarországi fiatalok körében
Synopsis
My study is related to the Research on transgenerational Holocaust memory in Central Europe 2022–2024 project, supported by the Visegrad Fund and led by me, as well as to the experiences of the project of the Jewish Roots in Győr Foundation, which focuses on the topic of social exclusion. Among others, these two research projects examined issues of local Holocaust memory and anti-Semitism among fourth-generation Jewish and non-Jewish young people in Hungary. Understanding the narratives that have not yet been sufficiently explored among young people in Hungary is essential in order to prepare ourselves interpretively for the near future, when the current generation of young people will shape the survival or oblivion of the memory of the Shoah. My paper aims to contribute to this.
