Modernitás és modernség a mindennapokban és a helyi életvilágokban a Taussig napló-hagyaték tükrében
Synopsis
This article presents modernity in the first decades of the 20th century using a unique source corpus. It draws on entries from the guestbook of an artist, patron of the arts, and engineer who organized the art scene in Szeged to present several novel and defining phenomena of the era from the perspective of everyday life and local communities. Among these, it deals with psychoanalysis and its only practitioner in Szeged, Samu Rapaport. It also examines the role of progressive education and life reform movements, as well as the innovative endeavours of modern movement art and the Bauhaus. Finally, it searches for the destructive effects of modernism in the background of the guestbook entries.
